Phyllis Marie (Childress) Porterfield

Phyllis Marie Porterfield, age 80, of Pounding Mill, Virginia, passed away peacefully in Sevierville, TN. on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was surrounded by her family and under Covenant Hospice care.  Phyllis was born in Grundy, Virginia and was the daughter of Thomas and Nanny Childress.   She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being outdoors with family.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold Porterfield, her grandson Stephen Porterfield, great grandson Samuel Porterfield, and sister Mary Rife.

She is survived by 2 sons Bill (Georgia) Porterfield and Bobby Porterfield, grandchildren Scotty Porterfield (Genny), Lucas Foster, Alex Paige, Robert Wells, great grandchildren James Ettar, Payton Porterfield, Levi Porterfield, and Fayln Porterfield, brothers Thomas Childress and Dan Childress, sisters Betty Fields, Gene Childress and Thelma Stiltner, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life Service.
