In Memory of Michael Dean Edwards November 23, 1954 - July 27, 2025 Michael Dean Edwards, Mike as everyone called him, passed away on July 27, 2025 at the age of 70. He was a man who lived life on his own terms—imperfect, stubborn at times, but always real.
He ran a small engine repair shop, fixing lawnmowers and anything else with a motor. He had a gift for making things run again, even when others had given up on them—something that said a lot about how he saw the world. He had a deep love for classic cars, the kind you don’t see much anymore, the ones that rumbled loud and stood the test of time. He could talk for hours about chrome, horsepower, and V8 engines. He knew engines, grease, and hard work better than most, and he didn’t mind getting his hands dirty.
He wasn’t always easy, and he’d be the first to admit it. But under the rough edges was a man who showed up when it counted, who helped anyone in need, who worked hard, and who never backed down from a challenge.
He loved camping and fishing with his grandkids, sitting on the boat with a line in the water and a story ready to go. He enjoyed hunting, going mudding, riding his Harley, being outdoors, and never passed up a good cookout with family and friends—meat on the grill, wings in the fryer, or a whole hog roasted to perfection. There was laughter in the air, and maybe a cold drink in hand.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Alisha) Keener and Tim (Chloe) Keener; grandchildren, Austin Ramsey, Alexis Keener, Owen Keener, Jocilyn Keener, McKaleigh Keener, Corbin Keener, and Zachary Keener; and great-grandchild, Yuno Parra. He is also survived by his siblings: brothers David Edwards and Danny (Tracy) Edwards, sisters Linda (David) Berry and Becky Warwick. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends that knew the real him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Carrie Edwards, and many of the animals he raised and loved over the years.
A private service will be held to honor his life just the way he would have wanted. The family will be hosting a cookout at his garage to celebrate his life on Saturday August 2nd @ 6pm. In his memory, turn a wrench, crank up an old engine, take a drive down a quiet back road, go sit by the lake and catch a blue gill or have a cold beer—he’d like that just fine.
Michael's obituary was submitted by his loving family.
