With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joanne Ivey Caldwell, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on May 19, 2024, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 5, 1960, in Atlanta, GA, to Bill and Frances Ivey, Joanne was known for her great laugh and wonderful sense of humor, which brightened the lives of everyone around her. She dedicated her life to her family, sharing her boundless love and joy with her husband, Emil Caldwell, and their children and grandchildren.
Joanne had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh and feel loved. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the joyful chaos of children and grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Her strength, kindness, and unwavering support were the cornerstones of her family. She faced her illness with remarkable courage, never losing her sense of humor or her ability to lift others' spirits.
Joanne is survived by her children, Jackie Batts, Joe Caldwell, Joy Caldwell, and Ian Caldwell, and her grandchildren, Caelyn Batts, Jace Caldwell, Carson Caldwell, Martiza Davila, Jasper Caldwell, Nolan Caldwell, Cwen Batts, and Oakley Caldwell. Her joyful spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of Joanne's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 5:00 PM at her daughter’s house. Rest in peace, dear Joanne. Your laughter and love will echo in our hearts always. You were always loving and always loved.
