James Edwards McCombie known as Jim or Jimmy age 77 of Sevierville Tennessee passed away quietly on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his home. He was born in New Jersey on June 7, 1947. He spent the years of his youth in Tom’s River New Jersey In 1991, he moved to Hampton Virginia. As a friend of Bill and Dr. Bob he made many friends giving back what was so freely given to him. Jim loved fishing and spent many days in Chesapeake Bay on his boat. In 2004, he and his wife Vikki moved to Sevierville Tennessee and fell in love with the beautiful Smoky Mountains. He served his country and after leaving the army, he became a mail carrier, but then he turned to sales. Jim sold many vehicles for years and developed his great passion for Corvette and owned many. His other love, besides his wife Vikki, he became a gym enthusiast and competed, winning a contest for bench pressing 280 pounds at the age of 70. Jim and Vikki shared 33 happy years together. He was preceded in death by his parents, John McCombie and Margaret McAllister McCombie, also his brothers Gordon McCombie and Glenn McCombie. He is survived by his loving wife Vikki, his sister Jackie, Lynn McCombie, his brother John, wife, Linda, McCombie, and many nieces and nephews. Through the years he developed many close relationships, especially with his young friend Asher Roberts and last but certainly not least his pomskies Marlee and Dolly. In lieu of flowers, donations to Smoky Mountains Hospice would be most appreciated. A memorial service at East Tennessee veterans cemetery will be announced at a later date.
