Christiane Dorothea (Schrader) Zeh

Christiane Dorothea Schrader Zeh, age 73, of Seymour, TN., passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.  Chris was born and raised in Bad Gandersheim, Germany and was the daughter of Alfred and Maria Frank Schrader. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her longtime partner Dennis Greene.

One of her proudest accomplishments was her United States citizenship that she received in 1996. She studied hard for this test because this citizenship meant so much to her and her daughter. To show her patriotism, her home was decorated with many American flags. She was proud to be an American.

Chris was a very sassy and feisty little German lady, who after all these years of living in America still spoke with a very strong German accent. She loved making people happy, and often that involved feeding them. She would always make you try her food whether you liked it or not. Chris made sure to let you know that her house was not a bed and breakfast, although she actually never wanted anyone to leave.  A good day always began with coffee, doughnuts, and eclairs.  She was such a giver and there was always a good fight over the bill.  Chris was best described as a real-life Snow White, as she loved feeding the cats, birds, and squirrels.  She was a very hard worker and could work circles around teenagers. Chris never met a stranger, was liked by everyone, and enjoyed her many friends.

Chris is survived by her daughter Jenny Shults (Brandon, “her handyman”), and was Oma to her granddaughters Dominique Shults (Joseph) and Makaela (Dylan) Abney, grandsons Anthony Hartness and Ethen Hartness, and a very special and loved great granddaughter Liana Dorothea Elaine Abney.

Chris will be deeply missed but she is riding on with Dennis.
