Angela Simon Obituary

Angela Faye Simon, age 80, of Oak Ridge, TN., passed away Friday, April 19, 2024. Angie was born in Nashville, TN. and was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Kerr Giansante. She was a member of Arlington Church of Christ in Knoxville, TN.

Angie’s  interests, hobbies, and ambitions all centered around and were driven by one topic - PEOPLE. Her theology was simple - Love God and Help Others. From a young girl, caring for her sisters and brother, ever watchful and always commanding... To a young mom with little stair steps, 1,2,3 & 4 following at her heels, Angie marched joyfully through life, embracing all the happy and sad that are a part of each journey. Each person she met, she loved. Each person she loved, she helped. Each person she helped was better for it. Just ask her friends who she traveled across the country for, or the preschoolers who she taught at Bible School. Her children, who gave her many laughs and a few gray hairs, or her grandchildren, especially who she climbed mountains for...even her little great grandchild--fingertips touching. But her favorite PEOPLE was her fair haired (once!) boy and when he smiled at her, even at 80, you could still see the "boy". Her Will, Her beloved, who she learned to ride a motorcycle for and for him, even braved flying, and together, they reached further, helped more people, played harder and loved more than they would have otherwise. So their shared ambition was met. They loved God and helped others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Giansante.

Angie is survived by her husband Will Simon, children Leslie (Steve) OBryant, Melissa (Lee) Pike, Michelle (David) Karkkainen, and Keith (Alyssa) Simon, 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and sisters Eva Parks and Merrie Smith.
